Dr. Severko Hrywnak
Chairman of the Board

Dr. Severko Hrywnak is currently the president and CEO of Advanced Ambulatory Surgical Center in Chicago as well as president and CEO of Elmwood Park Immediate Health Care Centers. Dr. Hrywnak is an assistant professor of medicine at the College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago and has written many medical articles for scientific publications. Dr. Hrywnak earned a pre-med Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Buffalo State University and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. A graduate of the Juarez School of Medicine, Dr. Hrywnak is a board certified physician and served his family practice residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Also a successful businessman, he has developed multi-million dollar commercial, residential, and medical complexes in the Chicago area. Dr. Hrywnak is also the Chairman and CEO of the Rochester Razorsharks.

Phil DiMaso
Supervisor of Officials

Phil DiMaso is a long-time coach in Illinois, working as both a head coach and assistant coach. Most recently, Phil was the head coach of Fenton High School in Chicago. Phil has officiated for the past ten years, and is a well-respected referee in the Chicago area. Phil begins his second year with the PBL, and is in charge of maintaining not only a high quality of referees and officiating staff, but also makes sure that the rules are followed and maintained on every game by both the officials and the teams.

Andre Levingston

Andre Levingston considers himself a basketball aficionado. Born in Arkansas and raised in Detroit, Andre now calls Halifax, Nova Scotia his home. Before his involvement with the Halifax Rainmen, Levingston owned and operated several business in the US and central Canada, including a communications company and a restaurant. Levingston created the Halifax Rainmen in 2007-08, and the team joined the PBL for the 2008-09 season.

Besides the Rainmen’s success on the court, Levingston has also brought his team to more than 50 different clinics and motivational speaking engagements at more than 25 schools, letting inner-city kids know they can achieve their dreams. Andre Levingston’s belief that giving back to the community is paramount to the integrity of a professional team, and won him praise and credibility from the business and political communities and from the fans and public at large. The team now has an executive advisory board made up of business leaders who support Andre in his efforts to build credibility and relationships that will influence the success of the Halifax Rainmen.

 

   
Chuck Miller
League Photographer and Media Specialist

Whether on the sidelines with his camera, or in front of his computer calculating league stats, Chuck Miller has been part of the Premier Basketball League since its first tip-off in the 2007-08 season. A graduate of Hamilton College and of the Street Academy of Albany, Miller has worked with several professional sports leagues, including the Continental Basketball Association and the American Professional Soccer League. He currently authors the PBL’s Weekly Report, a digital download of results and updates from the League’s past games; his photographs also grace the PBL’s websites and printed media. A self-taught sports archeologist and historian, Miller’s research includes the recovery of the Eastern Hockey League’s Atlantic City Boardwalk Championship Trophy, the finding of the 1941-42 American Hockey League All-Star Classic, and the restoration of the earliest seasons and statistics (1946-1959) of the Eastern Professional Basketball League.
