Cavalry win 2010 PBL Championship

Lawton, OK) – The Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry decimated the two-time defending PBL Champions, the Rochester RazorSharks with a\\126-108 win in Game 3 of the 2010 PBL Championships last night at Great Plains Coliseum in Lawton, OK.
The Cavs lead early in the first quarter. The Cavs scored 11 points consecutively before the RazorSharks broke the trend. The RazorSharks came close but they were never able to lead the game at any given time.
The Cavs improved tremendously over Sunday’s game against the RazorSharks. They led the RazorSharks in field goal shooting with 60% to 45.7%. The Cavs also doubled their three-point shooting percentage from Sunday’s game going from 25% to 50% to the RazorSharks’ 47.8%.
The biggest change in the Cavs last night was their free throw percentage. The Cavs ended Sunday’s game making only 46.4% of their free throws. Last night was a different story. The Cavs walked away making 78.9% of their free throws.
The RazorSharks improved from Sunday’s game as well. They increased their field goal from 35.7% to 45.7% and their three pointers from 33.3% to 47.8% but it wasn’t enough to stop the Cavs.
Derik Hollyfield led for the RazorSharks making 24 points, scoring all 5 of his free throws, getting 6 rebounds, and 1 assist in 28 minutes of play. Jerice Crouch also performed well with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal in 32 minutes of play.
Elvin Mims sealed his fate to become 2010 PBL Playoff MVP when he scored 26 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals in 48 minutes of play. Mims scored the only double double of Game 3. Eddie Smith scored 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal in 28 minutes of play.
