CAVS FIGHT BACK THE RAIN
LAWTON, Okla. – The Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry sent the Halifax Rainmen packing in Game 2 of the 2010 PBL Playoff Series with a final score of 135-104 Sunday April 18 at Great Plains Coliseum in Lawton, OK.
There was no need for overtime this time when the Cavs faced Halifax. The Cavs dominated the Rainmen and clinched the #1 spot in the 2010 PBL Champion Series against the Rochester RazorSharks.
Despite having five Rainmen score in the double digits the Cavs overshadowed the Rainmen by dominating in steals with 12 to the Rainmen’s 4, leading in assists with 30-15 and bench scoring with 58-45.
The Rainmen struggled with turnovers by more than doubling that of the Cavs. The Rainmen turned over the ball 22 times to the Cavs 10.
Rainman Gary Ervin led his team with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 7 assists in 42 minutes of play.\\But he couldn’t hold back Cavs Elvin Mims with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 block in only 26 minutes of play.
Cavs Brandon Dean also had a big game with 22 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists and 1 block in 35 minutes of play.
The Cavs will play the Rochester RazorSharks at 6 p.m. CST Thurs April 22 at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York in Game 1 of the 2010 PBL Championship Series.
