Greenhawks fall to Vermont, 131-102

(Rockville, MD)…Marshall Brown scored 12 of his game-high 30 points in the fourth quarter, including four consecutive three-pointers in just under a two minute span, to lead the Vermont Frost Heaves to their fourth victory in five games, 131-102 over the Maryland GreenHawks on Friday night.

Brown was 12 of 22 from the field including six from beyond the arch.

Jeral Davis was one of six Frost Heaves players to score in double figures, finishing the night with 23 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots. Dwuan Rice had a season-high 12 assists for the Frost Heaves who improved their record to 8-3 since naming Joe Salerno head coach after their 0-4 start.

Byron Mouton led the GreenHawks with 26 points and Ray Cunningham (20 points and 13 rebounds) and Terrance Mouton (11 points and 10 assists) both recorded double –doubles for the GreenHawks who played the first of three games to be played in as many days.

The GreenHawks return to action Saturday night at home at 7PM when they conclude their back-and-back series with the Vermont Frost Heaves. The GreenHawks will then travel to Manchester to play the Millrats Sunday afternoon at 4PM.

GAME NOTES: The GreenHawks players wore pink warm-up shirts, head bands and wrist bands to help spread the awareness of breast cancer. Throughout the game, the team sold raffle tickets for these game-worn items as all proceeds will sent to the Susan G. Komen foundation…Saturday night’s game will be Dunkin’ the GreenHawks mascot fifth birthday celebration. Mascots from many of the area’s local sports teams will be in attendance for the celebration.
