(Manchester, NH)...Merrimack (N.H.)High School's Steve Deluca scored a Millrats PBL franchise record 40 points as the Manchester Millrats kicked off their final home stand of the season with a convincing 145-108 win over the Buffalo Stampede on Saturday night at Southern New Hampshire University's Fieldhouse. With the victory, Manchester avenged a three-point buzzer beating road loss to Buffalo back in January.
The Millrats came out of the gates running with the Stampede and pulled ahead to take a 33-14 lead by the end of the first. Manchester extended it to 65-39 by halftime and began the second half with a run that pushed its edge to 90-56 at the halfway mark of the third, ultimately putting the possibility of a Buffalo comeback out of reach.
Anthony Anderson owns the club record with 36, which was against Puerto Rico on January 8th. Deluca scorched the stampede for 10 three-pointers, while nearly grabbing a triple-double with 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Julian Allen netted 21 points and Dwight Brewington added 19 as well. Collecting double-doubles were Stanley Ocitti with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Anderson with 10 points and 12 assists.
One more home game remains on the Millrats' schedule before they head out to Rochester for the season finale next Saturday. Sunday afternoon's match-up against the Maryland Greenhawks at the Fieldhouse will tip off at 4:05 p.m.
The GreenHawks are led by former University of Maryland Terrapin, Byron Mouton.
Tickets are just $10 for adults and $5 for kids and are available online or at the door.\\Doors open 1 hour prior to tip off.
