January 22, 2012 – The Chicago Muscle improved their record to 4-1 by defeating the Indiana Diesels 83 to 80 in overtime. The first half saw many lead changes as both teams battled hard on the defensive end of the court. With the Diesels leading The Muscle 37-36 going into the locker rooms at half-time, both teams looked to make half-time adjustments to improve on their offensive performances. By the end of the third quarter The Muscle found their way and took a 3 point lead on the Diesels. The Diesels battled their way back late in the fourth quarter to take a 1 point lead with only .4 seconds left in the game. On the ensuing throw in following a Muscle time out, David Artest of the Diesels, committed a foul on Marcel Anderson which gave The Muscle a chance to tie the game with only .2 seconds left on the clock. Anderson did not miss and capitalized on his free throw to send the game into overtime. In the overtime period The Muscle pulled away with a 3 point lead and shut down a last ditch 3 point attempt by the Diesels to win the game 83 to 80.
